5 August 2022 – IGEA is thrilled to announce the GCAP 2022 schedule and is looking forward to seeing everyone in person in Melbourne.  GCAP 2022 will run from 3 – 5 October as one of the earlier events on the Melbourne International Games Week #MIGW calendar.

Our focus for GCAP 2022 is Ambition. This year’s schedule features workshops, specialised tracks, and a vast amount of highly curated content from experienced and well-known practitioners from Australia and abroad.  You will not be disappointed.  See here for GCAP 2022 schedule details.

This year’s keynote speakers will discuss Ambition through their vast expertise and broad experiences. We will host Xalavier Nelson Jr, head of Strange Scaffold games, as well as Wren Brier and Tim Dawson as the duo heads of international darling Unpacking, with more keynote speakers to be announced shortly.

You may notice a slight change to the schedule for 2022. Day One focuses on more specialised content so that you have more opportunities to establish new connections and re-connect with other GCAP attendees.  Over the coming weeks we will be announcing additional content and highlighting special activities, so please keep an eye out.

Alongside our schedule, we’re also opening ticket sales today so get in fast!

Tickets are available through Eventbrite, and there are plenty of options to consider.

We have numerous opportunities for you to network and connect throughout GCAP 2022, with all ticket holders having access to the MeetToMatch networking platform.

Last but not least, we will be elevating and celebrating our diverse and local talent at the Australian Game Developer Awards (The AGDAs), which will be held on the evening of 5 October in person at our brand-new premier venue, The Forum Melbourne.

Tickets to the AGDAs can be purchased separately or as part of your GCAP ticket.  Please check Eventbrite for further details. For those who cannot join us in person, we will also be streaming the AGDAs presentation, showcasing the incredible Australian talent to the largest audience possible and ensuring an accessible night for all. Judging is underway for all categories and we will have more information on the event itself very soon!

As always, we couldn’t do GCAP without our sponsors and we sincerely thank Amazon Web Services, Blowfish Studios, Cam Rogers Legal, Creative Victoria, EA, Gameloft, Hipster Whale, Keywords Studios, LDB, League of Geeks, PlaySide Studios, Procreate, Sledgehammer Games, SpaceDraft, Unreal Engine and our industry partner, Screen Australia, who have signed on to support and help deliver GCAP 2022.
